Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja Items Vinayaka Chaturthi or primarily known as Ganesh Chaturthi marks the celebration of Hindu Lord Ganesha who helps in providing a new start by removing all the negativity from the sorroundings. One of the most celebrated gods all over India. Lord Ganesha is known for providing happiness and light in this journey called life. This event lasts for 10 days where pandals are set up all over the world and the celebration happens in a grand way. Maharshtra,Goa, Andhra Pradesh are the areas in India where Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with brilliant grandeur. There are various items which are necessary in making the pooja successful: Supari: Supari or Betel Nut symbolises the negativity that must be offered to gods to get rid of the negativity.When we asks for something in our prayers we should pray with a clean and simple mind. Modak: It has been believed that Lord Ganesha loves to have modak. These sweets are offered so that Lord Ganesha is happy and showers us with his blessings from heaven. It has been said that 21 modaks should be offered to the Lord to complete the puja. Sandalwood: Sandalwood is primarily rubbed on Lord ganesha’s forehead to provide a cooling effect and brings in a soothing smell to the entire place where the puja is being held. Incense Sticks and Lamp: Incesnse sticks are offered to gods which helps in getting the negative ambience away and bring in positivity and light through the lamp.

  2. Coconut: Coconut or shreefal in Ganesh Chaturthi, supposedly carries blessings from heaven, where the Lord resides.
