From the clothes that we see on screen tothedialogues we hear and especially the exotic locations, we witness through cinema, each and everything finds prominence on our Wish list. • Over the years, and after over exploiting the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland, B-Town has finally started absorbing the beauty of Indian cities and hinterlands. Fans of Bollywood are becoming aware of Hindi movie shooting locations due to social media. They a rush to the spot with a chance to meet their Bollywood stars. • Here are some famous locations where Bollywood fans get a glimpse of Hindi movie shooting.

Sukna Reserve Forest • The song ‘Kyon’ from Barfi is not only remembered for its beautiful composition but also for its paramount cinematography which featured the Sukna forest range near the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, close to Siliguri in West Bengal.   4. Hadimba Devi Temple • Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali mostly called the Dhungiri temple, became popular overnight, thanks to the 2013 blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Since then a lot of directors are selecting Manali & various areas in Himachal Pradesh as a location for Hindi movie shooting. Tourists who visit Himachal are many times lucky to get a glimpse of ongoing shooting.

  5. DorahaSaraiFort • Officially it is the DorahaSarai Fort but colloquially it is popular as the RDB (Rang De Basanti) fort. It called the Doraha Fort because of its two double-storied gateway entrances. It is right behind GurdwaraManji Sahib (in Doraha) about 1km away from National Highway 1. This massive fort is reminiscent of Indian culture and history right in the middle of lush green fields with a Gurdwara as the backdrop.

  6. Munnar • The foot tapping dance number, ‘Kashmir Tu, Main Kanyakumari,’ from Chennai Express has been extensively shot at the Munnar Tea Plantation in Kerala. And like everything which SRK touches turns into gold, this place has become a ‘Must Visit Spot’ for people traveling to Kerala. 

  7. Dhuandhar Falls. • This one is old but when Kareena danced on ‘Raat Ka Nasha’ in this smoke cascade known as Dhuandhar Falls, it was a sight! The Dhuandhar Falls is located on Narmada River in Bhedaghat, Jabalpur district Madhya Pradesh.

  8. FatehpurSikhri. • FatehpurSikri in Agra can be termed as a ‘BollywoodFavourite,’ when it comes to filming. From Pardes to Jodha Akbar, this Indo-Islamic architectural masterpiece has given Bollywood many blockbusters. The catch of this spot is how the red sandstone buildings lend themselves to the plummeting sun as the rays bounce off the beauty of this ancient architecture. It’s a world within a world.

Initially, Mumbai FilmCity was off limits to common individuals, they were not allowed to enter Mumbai film city. However, in since 2013 MTDC started the organized tour in Mumbai Film City where fans can visit locations and get a chance to see all the Bollywood sets and get a chance to be clicked with movies stars. Fans can also watch ongoing Hindi movie shooting. The Tour is organized by Mumbai Film City Tours, who are official associated with MTDC.
