  1. COVID-19 safety measures and health guidelines - VIC As the COVID-19 situation evolves in Victoria, it's crucial we stay informed and proactive for your well-being and our community's safety. Recent data indicates an increase in community transmission, largely attributed to the new JN.1 variant. This variant is impacting people globally, particularly those at higher risk. To effectively combat this wave, the following steps are recommended by Department of Health, Victoria: 1.Wear a mask: use a high-quality, well-fitted mask for your and others' protection. 2.Get vaccinated: keep up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. You can make an online booking for most major pharmacy chains. Chemist Warehouse offer Moderna, Pfizer and Novavaz … simply clickhere and follow the prompts to make an online booking. 3.Ventilation: open windows and doors to let fresh air in, and meet outdoors when possible. 4.Get tested: use a rapid antigen test (RAT) if you have symptoms. Positive results should prompt immediate consultation for antiviral eligibility. Although the state government no longer supplies free RATs to councils, some councils have not run out of their RAT supplies. For a list of free RAT distribution centre within the City of Melbourne, click here. 5.Stay at home: if positive, it is recommended to stay home for at least five days and until symptom-free. Continue to wear a mask up to seven days upon recovery. Contact your GP for worsening symptoms. 6.Take antivirals if eligible: eligible individuals should consider taking COVID-19 antiviral medicines within 5 days of symptom onset.
