  1. SLEEP TRAINING A BABY IN BELL CANYON, CA Sleep training is a process by which you help a baby to learn how to fall asleep and stay that way during the night. Babies are different, so one method that works for one baby may not necessarily work for another baby. Some babies fall asleep easily and quickly while many other babies find it difficult to sleep, or go back to sleep if roused from sleep by noise or disturbance. Such babies need assistance in making them go back to sleep. But this begs the question: ‘how soon can I start to sleep training my baby?’ Specialists suggest that the best period to start sleep training your baby should be when the child is between four to six months old. By the time a baby is four months old, it would have begun to follow a regular sleep-wake pattern and be almost done with feeding during the night. They can sleep for extended periods at nighttime. Once you have taken note of this, then it is time or you to begin sleep training the baby. But if your child doesn’t seem ready to start receiving sleep training at four months old, then it only means you have to hold off a bit until your baby gets a little older. Are you uncertain whether your child is ready for sleep training or not? Then, you may need to

  2. consult your pediatrician. Some professionals will be able to advise you regarding sleep training a baby. Are there sleep training options? Yes, there is; it all depends on the approach that you believe your baby would respond to as well as how comfortable you are when you do it. If the mood of your child improves and she falls asleep, then you’ve gotten a winning strategy. But if otherwise, you may have to wait for a few more days or weeks and try again using another technique. Here are common approaches at sleep training a baby: 1. The first method is the ‘cry it out’ approach as developed by a pediatrician at a children’s hospital. This approach entails teaching your baby how to comfort or soothes herself. You put her to bed while she’s still awake and allow her to cry for a short while before soothing – but not picking – her. The ‘no tears approach’ involves using placation methods where you soothe the baby to sleep and comforting her immediately if she comes awake and cries. 2. 3. The ‘fading process’ involves you sitting near the baby until she falls asleep and then moving away from her crib every night, or checking on the baby for reassurance without picking her up until she sleeps off. This is a good way to sleep training
