  1. Venus Atmosphere, Albedo Rate And Temperature

  2. The Venusian Atmosphere Composition: Carbon Dioxide: 96 % Nitrogen: 3.5% Trace Amounts of: Sulfur Dioxide: .015% Water Vapor: .002% and other gases Pressure: Very Dense Atmosphere Surface Pressure 100x Earth’s

  3. Acid Clouds & the Albedo Rate An Albedo Rate is how efficient a surface is at reflecting light. The Albedo rate of Venus is .65 (or 65%,) The highest in the Solar system (& thus the brightest Planet) Clouds of Sulfuric Acid High in the Atmosphere reflect the light and block views of the Surface Some (35%) gets through High Frequencies are absorbed by the Clouds thus The Venusian Sky is Orange

  4. Acid Rain Sulfuric Acid Rain falls in the Venusian Atmosphere Because near the surface is hotter than above it It evaporates on the way down at about 25 km from the surface

  5. Temperature and the Greenhouse Effect The Carbon Dioxide of the Venusian Atmosphere absorbs the heat resulting in: • High Temperatures 750° K + (900° F) Highest surface temperature in our Solar System • A Relatively Uniform Temperature The thick atmosphere and clouds trap the heat on Venus at night Temperature varies less than 10K
