SACS ACREDITATION STANDARDS • STANDARD 1: VISION AND PURPOSE • The school establishes and communicates a shared purpose and direction for improving the performance of students and the effectiveness of the school. • STANDARD 2: GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP • The school provides governance and leadership that promote student performance and school effectiveness. • STANDARD 3: TEACHING AND LEARNING • The school provides researchbased curriculum and instructional methods that facilitate achievement for all students. • STANDARD 4: DOCUMENTING AND USING RESULTS • The school enacts a comprehensive assessment system that monitors and documents performance and uses these results to improve student performance and school effectiveness.
SACS ACREDITATION STANDARDS • STANDARD 5: RESOURCE AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS • The school has the resources and services necessary to support its vision and purpose and to ensure achievement for all students. • STANDARD 6: TEACHING AND LEARNING • The school fosters effective communications and relationships with and among its stakeholders. • STANDARD 7: COMMITMENT TO CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT • The school establishes, implements, and monitors a continuous process of improvement that focuses on student performance.

Standard 1Vision and Purpose Tasks for Completion • Revise vision in collaboration with all stakeholders (Standard 1– has begun process) • Communication of vision: simple terms for ECH and Primary • Establish formal procedures for goal setting and improvement initiatives • Evaluate advances and create continued improvement based on the evaluation • Vision and mission should guide all decisions we make and all that we do… revise alignment • Formal revision every 5 years previous to each SACS reaccreditation
Standard 2Governance and Leadership Tasks for completion • Document – clarify responsibilities of • Leadership: general director… heads • Parents • Action plan • developed based on annual goals • overseen and evaluated(yearend or yearstart review) • Communication to all stakeholders • Implement a process for assessment analysis, evaluation, and improvement planning
Standard 3Teaching and Learning Tasks for Completion • Create action plans for improvement based on analysis of data • Vertical alignment in all subjects
Standard 4Documenting and Using Results Tasks for Completion • Completion of curriculum upload into Atlas with alignment to Standards and Benchmarks • More longitudinal data (Stanford – only 2 years) • Comprehensive assessment policy • collecting, archiving, analyzing data • production of action plans to improve student learning and guide curriculum and teaching decisions • Dissemination of information • Review of grading policies and practices • Communication of how school is doing • Access to comparative data from similar schools
Standard 5Resource and Support Systems Tasks for Completion • Better local sources for recruitment • Long term goals need to guide professional training • Offer professional development opportunities outside the school • More funds allocated to resources and books to support the learning programs • Parent concern about on-campus security • Security plans need more communication, practice and training • Provide career counseling and special needs support in HS • Strengthen special needs support at MS
Standard 6Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Tasks for completion • Promote, and encourage parents to use the variety of channels of communication that the school offers the parents • Methodically solicit and use community feedback as a means for improving communication • Evaluate efficiency of our communication channels • Incorporate more professional guests into curriculum and committees
Standard 7Commitment to Continuous Improvement Tasks for Completion • Revise the vision and develop an institutional plan based on this vision (include: vision, purpose, profile, plan, and results) • Open options for interested stakeholders to participate in the continuous improvement process • Communicate improvement efforts (quarterly board newsletter) • Develop a focus group to develop a CMSFQ History Memoir, that will document change that has taken place. Use this document as part of the tools to develop the institutional plan.
