  1. The Coordinator of IARU MONITORING SYSTEM Region 1 Wolfgang Hadel DK2OM and his Vice Coordinator Ulrich Bihlmayer DJ9KR We should like very much if your Society started an Intruder Watch. Try to recruit radio amateurs who monitor our bands and report to IARU-MS. We must safeguard our bands!

  2. IARU MONITORING SYSTEM Region 1Coordinator: Wolf Hadel DK2OM (left), Vice Coordinator: Ulrich Bihlmayer DJ9KR

  3. How to cope with an Intruder • Listen carefully! • Write down the most important facts! • Make a Sound File! • Report to the Monitoring System Listen carefully, do not jam the intruder!

  4. How YOU can help too: • Perhaps you speak a foreign language to understand and identify the intruder • Perhaps you are a good CW operator • Perhaps you can listen at „impossible“ times • Perhaps you own a special Decoder to identify Digital Signals Listen carefully, make a note, and report to the IARU Monitoring System Intruder Watch

  5. How to make a report to the IARU MONITORING SYSTEM- the 80-m-Band is NOT exclusive! • Frequency (in kHz) • Mode • Time (in UTC) • Day, Month, Year • Call Sign of the Intruding Station, if known • Country, if known • Comments about the program, language, jingle (of a Broadcast Station)

  6. Hey! This is my frequency! Disappear, Amateur! • I have always been here, and you`ve never complained! • J‘ai été ici depuis longtemps, et tu n‘as jamais protesté!

  7. How to read a Frequency: AM – A3E • Switch the receiver in position SSB, then tune to Zero-Beat and read the frequency!

  8. How to read a Frequency: FM – F3E • Same procedure as reading an AM Signal

  9. If you suppose a Transmitter Harmonic • Listen on the supposed Fundamental. • „Harmonics“ of 7120 kHz (e.g.) are 14240, 21360, 28480 kHz • Divide your „harmonic“ by 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. and listen on the supposed Fundamental!

  10. What you should NOT report to your Intruder Watch • Crackling noise from the pasture fence of your neighbour • Radio Amateurs using bad language • Radio Amateurs who do NOT follow the IARU Band Plan • TV Cable Interference and Pulses originating from Plasma-TV-Screens

  11. Reports of German Bandwatch to the German Telecoms. Authorities40-m-Band - May 2008 – BC and Digital

  12. Reports of German Bandwatch to the German Telecoms. Authorities 20-m-Band - May 2008 – BC and Digital

  15. The so-called Firedrake-Music-Jammer of the PR of China and BC Propaganda Station „Sound of Hope“ from Taiwan • The Firedrake-Jammer from PR China jams the Propaganda-Tx-er Sound-of-Hope from Taiwan by transmitting overmodulated Chinese Temple Music

  16. All Firedrake-Jammers get their Programs synchronously from CHINASAT-SatelliteInfo: www.satdirectory.com/firedrake.html • The music is transmitted from the 5th Minute till the end of the hour, then there is a 5 minutes break. • Sometimes you can hear „Sound-of-Hope“ in this break period

  17. With his Wavecom Equipment Wolf Hadel DK2OM has made a Spectrogram of the Carriers of the Music-Jammer and Sound of Hope: • There is a difference of 26 Hz between the two carriers.
