It was launched by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and is powered by the Virtual Center for Child Safety. This project is the first of its kind in Pakistan, working across the country to bring lost loved ones back home by using modern technology, public support, and verified information. How Mera Pyara Helps When someone goes missing or is found but cannot tell who they are, Mera Pyara steps in to help. The team uses: ● Facial recognition software ● Digital record matching ● Public alerts through banners and social media They compare photos and data to find a match in their system. Once a person’s identity is confirmed, they are safely reunited with their family or guardian. Where the Information Comes From The team collects reports and details from trusted sources, including: ● Police stations ● Edhi homes and other welfare centers ● Mental health facilities ● Social media and WhatsApp messages ● Shelter homes and hospitals All information is carefully verified before any action is taken, ensuring the process is safe and reliable. Involving the Public Mera Pyara also depends on public awareness and support. When banners or videos are shared online, people from the community sometimes recognize someone and contact the team. In many cases, this leads to successful reunions. A Real Impact Across Pakistan Thousands of families have already been helped.
