  1. Trajenta Medication Trajenta is a brand name for the medication Linagliptin, which is used to treat Type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs known as DPP-4 inhibitors, which work by increasing the levels of incretin hormones in the body. Incretin hormones help to regulate blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin release and reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver. The usual dose of Trajenta is 5 mg taken orally once a day, with or without food. However, the dosage may be adjusted by a doctor based on the patient's medical history, response to treatment, and other factors. Trajenta is usually used in combination with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes. Trajenta has been shown to be effective in reducing HbA1c levels (a measure of average blood sugar levels over time) in patients with Type 2 diabetes. It has also been shown to be generally well-tolerated, with common side effects including headache, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and upper respiratory tract infections. Rare but serious side effects may include pancreatitis, allergic reactions, and liver problems. It is important to use Trajenta as directed by a doctor and to follow a healthy diet and exercise plan as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for Type 2 diabetes. Patients should also monitor their blood sugar levels regularly and report any unusual symptoms or side effects to their doctor.
