How To Treat PCOS

One of the most common hormonal problems for women is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). When women produce higher than normal amounts of male hormones, they suffer from PCOS. Since their body is dominated by male hormones, it makes it harder for them to have menstrual periods and get pregnant. Besides, PCOS causes issues on their face and hair and could lead to long-term issues such as heart problems and diabetes.

  1. How To Treat PCOS? One of the most common hormonal problems for women is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). When women produce higher than normal amounts of male hormones, they suffer from PCOS. Since their body is dominated by male hormones, it makes it harder for them to have menstrual periods and get pregnant. Besides, PCOScauses issues on their face and hair and could lead to long-term issues such as heart problems and diabetes. It is commonly seen between the ages of 15 and 44. Above and beyond that, it is also believed that 2 percent to 26 percent of women have PCOS. However, many women are not aware that they are suffering from this issue. It is believed that 70 percent of women with PCOS have not been diagnosed. It is believed that birth control pills and diabetes drugs help in improving hormonal imbalance and symptoms. DIAGNOSIS OF PCOS: There is no particular diagnosis for PCOS. By coming to know about weight changes and menstrual periods, doctors will be able to come to a formal conclusion about PCOS. This will be followed by a physical examination for signs of acne, excessive hair growth, and insulin resistance. PCOS TEST: Three PCOS examinations are: Pelvic exam: Doctor will go through the pelvic exam result to check about the possible abnormalities. They will inspect your reproductive organs and masses. Blood test: Blood test is another way of identifying PCOS. With blood tests, doctors will be able to measure hormonal levels and possibly check for menstrual abnormalities or androgen. Ultrasound: First and foremost, the doctor checks the appearance of the ovaries and thickness of the uterus lining. A transducer is placed on your vagina to emit the sound waves on the screen. Doctors might ask you for additional tests in case they detect the PCOS. They are: Periodic checks of blood pressure, cholesterol level, and triglyceride levels. Depression and anxiety screening. Obstructive sleep apnea screening. https://blumehealth.in/

  2. TREATMENT FOR PCOS: LIFESTYLE CHANGES: Doctors might ask you to follow moderate exercises and prescribe a low-calorie diet to shed some weight. Reducing your body fat by 5% will have a sufficient effect and improve your body. However, we have to keep in mind that losing weight might also have an effect on your medications that you are taking as a result of suffering from PCOS. MEDICATIONS: Following are the recommendations to regulate your menstrual cycle. Combination birth control pills: Pills with estrogen and progestin will decrease the production of androgen and reduce the estrogen levels. Regulating therapy risks the possibility of endometrial cancer. Besides, it also corrects heavy bleeding, hair growth, and acne. Progestin therapy: Consuming progestin therapy for more than two weeks or even two months will help you regulate your periods and fight endometrial cancer, but they are not prescribed as it affects the likelihood of getting pregnant. Following are the recommendations to help you ovulate. Letrozole: This breast cancer treatment will work to stimulate your ovulates. Gonadotropins: Injection medications are used here. Metformin: If you don’t become pregnant using clomiphene -- which is taken during the first stage of menstrual cycle -- metformin is prescribed by the doctor. If you are suffering from stage 2 of diabetes, you might end up losing weight by taking metformin. Following are the recommendations to control your hair growth. Birth control pills: By using this pill, there will be a decrease in the androgen product that can cause an increase in hair growth. Eflornithine: This cream will help to slow down the growth of hair on women’s faces. These are some of the treatments that doctors will prescribe for PCOS. It is important to let the doctors accurately know the symptoms to work on the diagnosis and treatment. https://blumehealth.in/
