Therefore, it is no surprise that this book was written in that same vein. Strength In The Struggle is a beautifully written self-help framework that connects scripture to the everyday plight of the Black woman. For so long, Black women have shouldered the “troubles of the world,” yet we are not afforded the grace to exist as our authentic selves. This book gives us permission to safely unmask without fear of judgment. We are often looked upon to be strong, resilient, hard-working, and determined. But, why do we have to be all of those things? I can recall the day I defended my dissertation to obtain my Doctorate Degree. A myriad of emotions came over me: pride, joy, relief, anxiousness, and uncertainty. Oddly, I found myself anxious and uncertain because I was unsure about my next steps. What would I do without having to burn the midnight oil? What would I do without needing to meet a deadline? Am I truly free of research and spreadsheets? I wish I would have known to simply Relax, Relate, and Release. I was not equipped with the tools that allowed me to take a mental break. But, I knew that I needed one. This guide will bless any woman who acknowledges, she may not have it all figured out but doing her best to stay the course. Strength In The Struggle tells us it is okay to experience setbacks and defeats. However, our faith tells us that this too shall pass! Sebrina is an incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her authenticity is to be admired. With this book she has signaled to Black women that, you are not alone.
