  1. Maintaining the new look on your car involves a number of steps. The auto detailing that is required to keep your car brand new can be broadly categorized into two types – protective measures and repairing measures. Car waxing and car polishing are two important aspects of car grooming in Singapore and each measure is adopted to serve a particular purpose as per requirement. 2. What is car waxing? Difference between car wax and car polish What is car waxing? There are two main types of car waxes – liquid and paste. Car wax can be made from natural as well as synthetic materials. Traditionally paste type wax is used to provide sheen to the vehicle’s paint. It creates an additional protective layering over car’s paint. The wax layer provides an extra shine to the car’s exteriors and protects the car’s paint by making the water to form beads and fall off the surface quickly. Waxing also filters the UV rays falling on the car’s surface and prevents it from fading during long hours of exposure to sun. Waxing creates a physical barrier between the car’s paint and extrinsic factors, such as salt, dirt and other contaminants and thus helps in slowing down the oxidation that is the main cause of metal deterioration during storage and driving…

  3. What is car waxing? Difference between car wax and car polish What is car waxing? Liquid wax is quite similar to the paste wax in terms of constituents and function, the only difference is that it is produced in a thinner form. With both forms of wax, you need to rub the wax on car’s surface, letting it to dry with a dull luster, then rubbing off the extra wax with the help of a clean cloth and bringing out the glossy shine. The wax then remains on the car’s surface for several months before wearing off.

  4. What is car waxing? Difference between car wax and car polish What is polishing? Car polish is used to remove scratches, dirt and fine lines from the car’s body. Car polish contains some abrasive chemicals that acts on the car’s paint and removes a very thin layer of it, diminishing the scratches and making the fine lines to vanish away. It also contains additional solid components that settle into the fine scratches and does away with the scratches minimizing their appearance by blending them with rest of the surface and reflecting the light evenly. Polishing job can be accomplished by hand or with power polisher. Most of the car polishes also contain wax to produce a glossy appearance.

  5. What is car waxing? Difference between car wax and car polish Similarities and difference Car polish service in Singapore can be used to get your car polished or waxed or both. In most cases waxing is performed after polishing. Polishing removes a layer from the car’s surface whereas waxing adds a protective layer. While most of the car waxes serve similar purpose, car polishes are often marketed for particular types of paint, and many of them even contain colors. After application it is not necessary to remove the car polish like in case of waxing, however the extra polish should be wiped off to prevent running off or streaking. Whether you need to polish or wax your car, it largely depends on the condition of the car’s paint and the finish you require.
