  2. Assessment A physiotherapist begins by assessing the individual's physical abilities, including strength, flexibility, posture, gait, and balance. They also take into account the person's specific symptoms and their impact on daily life. Presented by Maple Care Physiotherapy

  3. Exercise Prescription Based on the assessment, the physiotherapist designs a customized exercise program to address the individual's unique needs and goals. Exercise programs for people with Parkinson's often include a combination of stretching, strength training, cardiovascular exercises, and balance exercises.

  4. Strength Training Strengthening exercises can help counteract muscle weakness and rigidity commonly associated with Parkinson's disease. These exercises target the major muscle groups and can be done using body weight, resistance bands, or weights.

  5. Flexibility and Stretching Stretching exercises can help maintain or improve joint flexibility and reduce muscle stiffness, which is a common symptom in Parkinson's. This can improve range of motion and reduce the risk of falls.
