  2. Medical waste, clinical waste, bio-hazardous waste, infectious medical waste, and health care waste are all examples of biomedical waste. Waste is generated in healthcare facilities such as diagnostic labs, hospitals, and clinics. Body fluids like blood, as well as other pollutants, can be found in biomedical waste. The Bio-medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 1998, were released by the Ministry of Environment and Forests under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
