  1. Tires and Fuel Economy – Tips to Save You Money Being a part of trucking industry, you often spend dollars due to the high fuel consumption or your driving may damage the environment. Here are some ways to save your money and reduce pollution: Buy fuel-efficient tires:- Do you know how you drive can have a big effect on how much fuel you use. Getting the tires at the right position can improve the fuel economy. The study says that an 8% reduction in tire rolling resistance will result in a 1% savings in fuel consumption.” Even the wheel positions have different impacts on fuel economy. “ Keep your vehicle well-tuned:-

  2. Maintenance such as regular oil changes, air-filter changes, and spark plug replacements, will lighten the life of your vehicle, reduces emission and improves fuel economy. Just read the manual carefully. Wide-base singles, Carry a spare:- Sometimes it is difficult to “limp” to the nearest repair facility if you had a flat, as you could with a set of duals. Therefor it is always good if you carry a spare, and bought the tires in quantity so they could get them at a lower cost. Drive moderately:- High-speed driving increases both the fuel use and emissions. Going 65 mph on the highway instead of 75 can cut your fuel use up to 20 percent, and making more gradual stops and starts will bring even more savings. Fuel-efficient duals or wide-base singles:- Some load trucking companies use wide-base single tires for improving fuel efficiency, while others prefer fuel-efficient duals. Keep track of your fuel economy:- If there is a drop in your vehicle's fuel economy, it’s a sign of engine trouble. So keep track of your odometer reading and the number of gallons purchased each time you fill up. You can also calculate the gas mileage, by dividing the number of miles traveled between fill-ups to the number of gallons purchased. You can also keep track of your driving habits that are impacting your fuel efficiency, keeping the track of your fuel economy in real-time, Park in the shade:- During summer, parking in the shade can minimize the evaporation of fuel and keep your vehicle cooler.

  3. Some of other ways to improve your fuel and tire efficiency are: Keep moving, but drive less. Finding your ideal tire pressure: Stretch (and record tire pressure regularly): Buy a more fuel-efficient vehicle. If your run a load board industry, you can add your experiences in the comments section.
