  1. A nagging knee injury puts a damper on your day-to-day plans and activities. While knee discomfort and injuries are common, they shouldn’t be chronic. If you’re suffering from a knee injury and it isn’t healing up, it may be a sign you need treatment—don’t ignore it. Here are some helpful knee injury recovery tips. Follow them for soothing recovery.

  2. To get relief from a knee injury, ice your knees for 20 to 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours. This will help you reduce the pain and swelling. Repeat it for 2 to 3 days or until the swelling is gone. Next thing you can do to become well again after the injury is to put an elastic bandage, sleeves or straps on your knee. This will help you control swelling and reduce pain.

  3. For a quick relief, it’s good to raise your knee on a pillow when lying down or when you are sitting. For stabilizing and protecting your knees from further injury, it’s advisable to wear a knee brace. If the problem is endless and you are having severe pain, there is no better way than meeting a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist can help manage the pain and swelling. He or she can also advise you to practice stretching and strengthening exercises. Ask your health expert to recommend a physical therapist for guidance.

  4. The time for recovering from a knee injury may differ. It depends on how severe the injury is. People suffering from the knee injury may heal at different rates. In many cases, physical therapy is considered the best way to heal knee injuries. It helps limit problems and speeds up your recovery.
