  4. Can’t Let Go Obstacle Courses: In this activity therapists create obstacles outside or inside the room, where children can climb up and down.  The interesting factor is that all kids in a group must hold their hands together upon all obstacles. If the chain is broken, they will have to start again. The game is such an introduction to the entire group therapy session, proclaiming that everyone is together in this, helping each other in overcoming all the obstacles in life.

  5. Mirroring: In this game, one group consists of two kids where one acts as a child and the other as the mirror. Mirror must imitate all the actions shown by the child. This game is really challenging as it requires a lot of teamwork and cooperation with each other.

  6. Story time: This game is a part of story reading, in which a student starts reading and the guide stops him/her and asks someone else to continue where it was left off. This game requires a lot of concentration without letting your mind wander because you may be the next to read.  This will in turn help kids in listening carefully when the sharing sessions in group therapy begins, it develops the willingness to lend their ears for someone else’s problems.

  7. Chinese Whispers: Arrange the whole class in a line, sitting or standing doesn't matter, and the therapist tells a sentence to the child standing very near to them.  This child upon hearing the sentence must pass it to the one adjacent without repeating. The whispering goes on and on till the last person. At the final stage let us see how the initial sentence was changed as the result of numerous whisperings. This game is also known by another name of “telephone game”.

  8. Trace and Draw: In this every child in a group lays on a long piece of paper and traces his/her outline.   Now the rest of the group members contribute by colouring, drawing and writing positive things about the child.  It is such a great game as children are encouraged to notice, observe and point out good qualities in others.  The child in the outline would be happy to know the opinion of his/her peers and that increases self-esteem.

  9. Conclusion These are some of the fun group activities to be included in group therapy sessions to break the ice between children and get them acquainted with one another.
