    2. Document History Backwards Mapping Algebra I Standards to Pre-K Foundations Development Work De-constructing Standards Aligning to State Assessment Write Benchmarks and Examples Half-Day Professional Development JRJR

    3. Warm Up: Looking at Student Work Directions: Using the handout, study the four areas of student work With I and IV identify the students misunderstandings With II and III review the distracters and the student response data For all examples, discuss issues and implications CWCW

    4. Focus Items Conversations around the big ideas, important topics, and reporting clusters of Algebra I Provided a common set of prerequisite standards, foundations, and skills essential to Algebra I and how these fit in the progression of learning that students encounter on their way to Algebra I JRJR

    5. Focus Items Discuss how to better support mathematics educators in the teaching of the identified standards/foundations, grades Pre-K to Algebra I Benchmarks for each identified standard and foundation to provide an example of what students experience at each grade level for Algebra Readiness. JRJR

    6. Focus Items Provided the # of questions for each identified standard tested on the California Standards Tests (CST) and California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Have discussions on the provided examples, common student errors, and misconceptions JRJR
