Last year… • We did not have SWIS. • Used teacher surveys and direct observation to make decisions • The cafeteria was identified as the biggest “problem area” • The cafeteria was so chaotic that staff were not showing up for their assigned “cafeteria duty”
What We Did… • Posted expectations in the cafeteria • Gave out tokens for good behavior • Recognized the best class at the end of each week • Came up with activities for students to do after they finished eating • Increased the number of cafeteria monitors and trained parent volunteers
This Year… We have very few office referrals from the cafeteria!
The Hallways • Became the biggest “problem area” in December
What We Did… • Put up more “Eagle Code” hallway posters • Increased hallway monitoring in the morning and afternoon • Required students to have a pass if they were in the halls • Asked teachers to take their students to the bathroom as a class • Started “Hallway Super Star” coupons to reward following the “Eagle Code” in the halls
Each staff member can give out 1 coupon/week. Student name: HALLWAY SUPER STAR! This coupon entitles you to ONE of the following: * A “best friends” bookmark or * 20 minutes of computer time or * Eat lunch with/help a favorite teacher Staff name:
