Laughing Hyena Records is an independent record label/brand licensing company that was founded by Arnie Hoffman, who has been working within the world of music since 1971. Arnie Hoffman was a member of the Catch, a Rising Star comedy club in New York in the '80s. It was an excellent reason to travel to New York, and he did exactly that. Arnie was a fan of Gilbert Gottlieb, Richard Belzer, and Paul Shaeffer until the wee hours.

  1. Laughing Hyena Records Laughing Hyena Records is an independent record label/brand licensing company that was founded by Arnie Hoffman, who has been working within the world of music since 1971. Arnie Hoffman was a member of the Catch, a Rising Star comedy club in New York in the '80s. It was an excellent reason to travel to New York, and he did exactly that. Arnie was a fan of Gilbert Gottlieb, Richard Belzer, and Paul Shaeffer until the wee hours. At the time, he was a distributor of the major labels and sold their cassettes via trucks that traveled from coast to coast. However, Arnie wanted to be a part of the new comedy industry, so he decided to sell his previous business and began recording comedians of the best laughs in 1987 and then releasing the tapes and then CDs. There was no other company that thought of doing this. The comedy label was named by the man.

  6. The Founding Founder of Laughing Hyena Records Arnie Hoffman was a fan of Catch a Rising Star in New York City at the beginning of the 1980s. The Catch is one of the very first Comedy Clubs in the country, and it was open till the very early hours. The Catch was the reason to visit New York, and Arnie did precisely the same thing. He enjoyed listening to artists like Alonzo Bodden, Richard Belzer, Gilbert Gottfried, and Paul Shaeffer until the sun was up.
