2. WHY PLAY? PLAY IS NOT A LUXURY. IT IS A NECESSITY. Many parents intuitively know the importance of play in child development, but despite its many benefits, we rarely associate play with learning. For most people, learning involves acquiring a specific new skill, such as memorizing alphabets, counting, writing, etc. They often believe that playing is only for fun and involves no actual learning. However, according to studies, playing is learning. Children learn through play experiences and it is essential to a child’s growth.

The workshop is beneficial for everyone who interacts with and manages neurodivergent children between 2-5 years However, as this is a group workshop, there are certain pre-requisites to ensure all the children are able to benefit from the workshop: Parents must disclose if there are any kinds of sensory concerns related to touch, smell, taste, vision, auditory, proprioceptive, vestibular, or interoceptive senses Child should be able to understand simple instructions and imitate actions when prompted Child should be able to tolerate the presence of other people in a closed area Child should be able to connect with the parent when in distress
