  1. A Ray Of Hope — Govind Jaatev Although thousands of candles are more beautiful than a single one, a single candle has the power to light up thousands of candles. In the same manner, the light and power of one individual can inspire thousands. One life saved is a ray of hope for many. An inspiring example of this can be found at Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, a charitable hospital set by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj through Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat. The work of Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya has helped hundreds of thousands of people to live www.jkp.org.in

  2. better. Many lives have also been saved due to the care provided by the team of medical professionals who volunteer their valuable time to help those in need. The inspiring case of Govind Jaatev is one such example of what Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, aims to provide to society. Govind is 10 years old and is an only child of Dwarika Jateev, living in a village about 30 kilometers from Vrindavan. His life was filled with suffering due to his inability to function in a healthy manner. His health problems included weakness, fatigue, and breathing issues. Just going to school was difficult as he would run out of breath when he walked and couldn't live a normal life. Unable to play with friends or study, his family was extremely concerned. Unfortunately, Govind was asked to leave school. The disadvantaged state of the family meant that they couldn't afford to get proper medical care for Govind. In 2015, Govind was taken to a doctor in Mathura where he was prescribed medication. These did not help and his prognosis got even worse. By some stroke of luck, his parents were told about the free healthcare services of Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya,. His father remembers that after seeing the hospital facilities and experiencing the care of the nurses and doctors at Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, Vrindavan, he suddenly had a feeling of hope for his son. www.jkp.org.in

  3. Upon examining Govind, the doctor found that his hands were blue and his physique was very weak. The team then decided to conduct a heart test which had very worrying results. The wall between the chamber of the heart that separates the pure and impure blood was absent resulting in his unhealthy state. They concluded that without urgent medical care, Govind would live only a few months. Govind was sent to Dr. N.N. Khanna, a leading world-renowned Cardiologist, at Apollo Hospital for his help. After a thorough examination, Dr. Khanna confirmed that Govind had a complex congenital cardiac condition that required immediate surgery. Although Dr. Khanna waived his fee, the hospital had to charge for expenses related to the surgery which was estimated at about a few hundred thousand rupees. His parents were unable to afford it and were extremely disappointed upon returning to Vrindavan. Appealing to Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Presidents, Sushri Dr. Vishakha Tripathi, Sushri Dr. Shyama Tripathi, and Sushri Dr. Krishna Tripathi, it was unanimously decided that Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat would bear all the costs of surgery at Apollo Hospital. The surgery took place on 17th March 2016 at the Apollo Hospital and www.jkp.org.in

  4. Govind's life was saved. His parents were so appreciative of the Presidents of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat for their kindness and compassion. Within a short time, Govind returned to Vrindavan and to his village where he returned to school. He is now a healthy and cheerful young boy who is forever grateful for the help that Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, provided to him. He still goes for regular check-ups but he can study, play, and lead a normal life like the other children around him. Just as one candle can light a thousand candles, the single powerful and inspiring light of our Gurudev has lit the hearts of the many doctors and nurses to continue to provide much-needed medical care to the disadvantaged in our society. Through His divine grace, many have benefited and continue to benefit. The one life saved has given hope to thousands. Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, in providing its valuable services to those in need has presented an ideal example to society. www.jkp.org.in
