  1. 10 Small Business Marketing Trends To Watch Closely In 2019 by Kimberly Jean Fricke Every year see changes to how small businesses do their market. What are the big changes and trends in michigan small business marketing to watch in 2019? Social Media: If your business is not involved on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn already, 2019 is the year to jump in with both feet. Engaging your clients on a regular basis builds awareness of your business and your current product specials. Plus, it can be done at almost zero cost and only small amounts of time. Chatbots: How fast do customers want answers? Chatbots allow you to provide customers with instant answers even when you are not around. Chatbots can be used on your website and with some social media platforms. The Voice: Have you added a Google Home, Alexa or Apple smart device to your home? So have your customers. More customers are using voice search to get answers than ever before. Your website should be optimized for voice results. Email: Are you ignoring email? What seems like an old school method of getting business is still one of the highest return on investment items you can do. Make sure you get your customers email addresses and start having conversations with them every week. Facebook and Instagram Live: Yes, we did mention social media before, but this is going a completely different direction. Everyday more overachieving sellers are jumping onto Facebook and Instagram to talk about their services and products live. This builds a high level of trust and engagement with customers and can increase sales quickly. Video Marketing: How much time do you spend watching videos? Do you search for answers on YouTube? Make sure your clients find you when they search for answers by posting simple informative videos on YouTube and Instagram.

  2. Mobile Victory: When is the last time you viewed your website on your phone? What about your Facebook page? You need to make sure every piece of your online marketing works flawlessly on phones. Your clients are more likely to look at your website on their phone than on a desktop today. Yellow Pages: You thought this was going to be 100% positive? Those dollars you are investing in directories is becoming less valuable in 2019. Watch millennials and see if you can catch any of them reaching for the Yellow Pages. They grab their phone and ask questions. Content, Content, Content: As you have already noticed, almost every trend we have mentioned so far demands content. Your customers have become insatiable for information and have frequently made their buying decision before walking in your door. Make sure you have content everywhere they might look. Local Engagement: Are you a small local business owner? It is time to step into the limelight in 2019. All of the above trends have one thing in common, people want to interact. Use the above ideas to become the local expert in your field. Just by spending a few minutes per day answering questions, helping local charities and getting your name around the community can pay big dividends in name recognition and get your phone ringing. The small business marketing trends continue to move into a more digital world. Leveraging online resources can help you stand out in your community and beyond.
