  1. Savannah World Biomes

  2. Savannah World Biomes Temperature The temperature can range from 75° F to 80° F. The annual average temperature is approximately 78° F. Some inland savannah’s can reach up to 120 °F. Average temperatures: Dry season: 70°F ; Wet season: 85°F Limiting Factors Because trees need a lot of water, many trees do not grow in savannahs because of the dry season. During the dry season, lightning sometimes causes fires that burn the savannah. Solar Insolation 6-8 month wet summer season and a 4-6 month dry winter season Rainfall Rainfall in savannahs range from 10 inches- 50 inches annually.

  5. Savannah World Biomes Serengeti Plains Savannahs around the world. Savannahs are being destroyed because of grazing cattle. Serengeti Plains Fire maintains the savannah by stimulating the grasses to grow.

  7. General Information • Temperature: Monthly averages are about 64°F • Precipitation: Annual: 30-50 inches; During the dry season less than 4 inches a month of rain fall • Seasons: Two seasons: 6-8 Month Wet Season during the summer and Dry Season during the winter • Limiting Factors: Animal poaching, clearing for crops, fires start very easily, overgrazing of animals, overcrowding of animals, and savannahs are used for fuel
