  1. 5 WordPress Dashboard Notes Plugins www.webhosting.uk.com/blog/5-wordpress-dashboard-notes-plugins/ When you run a WordPress website or develop them for your customers, it can be difficult to keep track of all the tasks that need to be done in the admin area. To help, you could install a dashboard notes plugin. These can be used to create reminders, keep tabs on progress and to communicate with team members or users. In this post, we’ll take a look at five of the best notes plugins available for free in the WordPress repository. 1. WP Dashboard Notes The WP Dashboard Notes plugin can be used for a wide range of purposes, from listing ideas for new blog posts to keeping a record of SEO work you have done throughout the website. Notes are easy to create, can be edited directly on the dashboard itself and are automatically saved when you update them. One great feature is that, besides simple text notes, you can also create listed notes using a drag and drop facility. The lists can even contain check boxes, which make them ideal for creating to-do lists. 1/4

  2. Another interesting feature is that the notes are coloured, enabling you to use a different colour for each type of task you are carrying out. This will make it easier for you to find the right note. Perhaps its most useful feature is that the notes can be shared – either privately or publicly. This is great if you want to leave a message for other users with admin access or if you are part of a development team working on a website and want to update your team. 2. Plugin Notes As the name suggests, Plugin Notes was developed as a way to make notes about the work you are doing on specific plugins. This can be helpful to both WordPress users and developers when configuring or making modifications to a plugin – especially if you are working on several at the same time. The plugin has a range of useful features. You can have separate notes for each plugin, all of which can contain HTML and markdown syntax as well as being colour-coded. One very useful feature is that it is possible to save a note as a template so that you can use it over again without having to create it from scratch. 3. Notely Notely is a great little plugin that can be used when creating content. It places a new metabox in the admin sidebar on posts and pages so that you can make notes as you work them. This is great if you have an idea for something to add later or you need to remind yourself or other contributors about editorial work which still needs to be done. If you run an e-commerce website, then Notely also offers you the ability to install notes on WooCommerce products. 2/4

  3. Rather than using colour-coding, Notely goes one stage further, letting you add icons to your notes, giving you a more accurate idea of what each note is about. You can even upload your own icons if you do not want to use the ones provided. 4. WP Notes Widget The WP Notes Widget produces front end, sidebar-displayed notes that actually look like real, yellow sticky notes. This plugin is ideal for websites that want to display notes for things which are short and time sensitive, for example, an e-commerce website advertising a Black Friday sale or a community website promoting an event to its members. As the notes are time sensitive, you can set the start and end times for display. You can also include an image and links in the note and even tweet the contents to your Twitter followers. You can find out more about WP Notes Widget in the video below. 5. Note Press If you install an admin note plugin, chances are that you are using it to make your work easier. What you don’t need, therefore, is a complicated note plugin. If that’s the case, Note Press might be your ideal solution. To create a note, you will be using features which are familiar to any WordPress users and to find your notes all you have to do is click on the Note Press admin button. The notes will appear in chronological order. What’s more, Note Press has a wide range of features which can be used for many purposes. You can code them 3/4

  4. with icons, create to-do lists, leave instructions for developers or team members and many other things.
