  1. ADVANCED PRODUCTION SCHEDULING

  2. Why APS? Having an in-depth understanding of customer demand, internal and external supply channels, vendor requirements, and operating constraints is critical for competing in today's global economy. The main problem which arises while completing the orders on- time is to synchronize the order dates with the current production plan and to manage the load on production lines (process cells) The APS system helps the planner to maintain the proper synchronization between orders commitment date and production plans.

  3. What is APS? Advance Production Scheduling (APS) System is an Industrial IT solution for controlling a full spectrum of production planning tasks in the process manufacturing industries. With APS, your planners can build production plans that optimize machine capacity and minimize inventory, while ensuring on-time delivery to the customers. APS system is seamlessly integrated with BME’s MPS and MRP systems.

  4. How APS Helps? APS system helps the production planner to – • View load on process cells and allocate batches to process cells on priority basis • Modify the schedule start and end dates of a production batch to meet the deadline. • Identify the possible delivery dates for a sales order. • Create multiple plans of same data so as to identify the best plan that fits all the constraints. • Merge changes made on the planning board to live data in BME system .

  5. Features of APS • Heart of APS system is its Drag-&-Drop based planning board. After selecting a set of batches to plan (say batches for coming week), planning board shows load on individual process cells. Based on load, batch size and delivery dates, batches can be rescheduled or, can be routed to alternate process cells. • Support for tasks other than production batches: machine overhaul, floor sanitation etc. via creation of user defined tasks. User tasks can be placed on planning board. This gives planner visibility to reschedule batches if required. • User friendliness : The interface of APS system is very user friendly. APS system Interface supports creation of icons on desktop for frequent usable screens, placing of notes on desktop & cross-user messaging.

  6. Overview of APS BatchMaster-APS is a add-on to BatchMaster Enterprise, consists of following modules. 1. Production Scheduling Module. a. Planning Horizon. b. User Defined Tasks. c. Production Scheduling. 2. Sales Scheduling Module. a. Sales Scheduling.

  7. Planning Horizon Back The Planning Horizon screen enables defining the parameters for scheduling.

  8. User Defined Tasks Back The User Defined Task screen enables defining tasks that needs be performed apart from the routine-production job.

  9. Production Scheduling Back Next You may schedule your production batches through this screen. Its electronic dashboard: • Allows easy manipulations in the schedule just with a click and drag of mouse. • Allows performing “what-if ” scenarios before adopting the final schedule • Enables the scheduler to plan the schedule weeks or months in advance • Uploads data to BME with ease.

  11. Sales Scheduling Back The APS Sales Scheduling enables scheduling Sales Orders to maintain a balance between Demand and Supply.

  12. Sales order integration After integration with APS, a demand supply info button gets automatically installed on BME Sales order screen. This button allows user to see current demand and supply information so as to promise exact delivery dates to customer. BME-Sales Order Screen Demand-Supply Info. Screen

  13. Conclusion BatchMaster’s APS Module is a powerful planning and scheduling option for production floors of any size. It allows revisions and modifications in schedule with click and drags of mouse; enabling you to manipulate job priorities by department, chart out the schedule for weeks or months in advance and run "what-if" scenarios before adopting the final schedule.
