There Is Something About Mary

Our Lady

Queen of Heaven

Queen of the Earth

The Great Bronze door at the new $200 million Catholic “Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels” in Los Angeles depicts “Our Lady” as she has supposedly appeared throughout the Americas. The first visit from this “lady” was to the Incas as “Pachamama” the earth goddess, shown in tribal feathers (upper left)
Incas of ancient Peru believed that Pachamama personified the Earth. Pachamama and her husband Inti, the Sun-god, were viewed as generous deities
The Black Madonna is honored as a true Goddess figure, and has been since Christianity entered Europe. She is honored by many as Isis, Gaia, Kali, Mary, "the Other Mary" (Mary Magdalene), Diana, Sheela Na Gig, and the Ancient Primal Earth-Mother Goddess.

For many European Christians, the blending of their ancient Goddesses with the Blessed Virgin Mary has been a well accepted fact of their faith for centuries, there is no conflict. The Black Madonna, be She called Isis, or Mary, or Kali, or Diana, embodies all the aspects of Female Divinity for many millions of people.

Is Madonna of Rome the Madonna of Ancient Babylon?

The Madonna and child have been revered since the earliest times. Isis and Her son Horus, Mary and Her son Jesus, Demeter and Her daughter Kore, all have attracted a devout following. Long before Isis, and long before Mary or Demeter, the human psyche fashioned Madonna and child icons and placed them in sacred shrines.

Through time, the names and sometimes the images of the Madonna and child have changed, but the location of these shrines, and the wide devotion to them has remained constant. The character of the Goddess has remained the same.

From the side can be seen a thick braid of hair down her back that summons thoughts of Native American or Latina women. Other characteristics, such as her eyes, lips and nose convey Asian, African and Caucasian features.

Nothing New Under the Sun

As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you! But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. Jeremiah 44:16, 17

  • For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Math 24:24

There is a move to make Mary Co-Redemptrix. In the last 10 years, about 7 million petitions from over 150 countries have been sent to the Pope, along with the endorsements of 550 bishops and over 40 cardinals, and Mother Teresa.

In 1923, Pope Pius XI sanctioned Pope Benedict XV's (1914-1922) pronouncement that Mary suffered with Christ, and that with Him, she redeemed the human race. And Pope Pius XII officially designated Mary the "Queen of Heaven" and "Queen of the World."

  • And there appeared a great sign in the heavens, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head Rev. 12:1

The small shrine of Mary in Ephesus, Turkey

The Qu'ran mentions Mary 34 times in delicate poetic terms. The Ephesus shrine is one of the few where Muslims and Christians pray together daily. Devotees arrive from all over the world, numbering over one million annually.

There’s nothing new under the sun. The Israelites worshipped the “Queen of Heaven” when they turned their back on God
