The Role and Purpose of the Advisory Neighborhood Council An advisory committee is made up of a group of people who each provide special knowledge and abilities that complement those of the official board of directors and help it better steer the organization. The most credible purpose for forming the council is as follows: The council performs technical expertise in the areas of technology, health, policy, neighborhood, and public relationships. Help and spearhead special projects starting from planning to completion. Managing funds for various projects. Fulfill various roles for the non-profit program and serves as fiscal agent. Offer services as a spokesperson for the organization. The basic purpose of the group varies based on the organization's needs. So, the advisory council should always have a clear understanding of its purpose, limitations, and guidelines. Basic Things about Advisory Council An Advisory group is considered a group of individuals supplementing the board's abilities and skills.
