SSC CGL is a big exam which covers all the topics which you can expect from Quantitative Aptitude (Maths), Reasoning, English, & General Awareness sections. And the good thing, there are no changes in exam pattern as well as the syllabus. So, you can continue your preparation in the same direction without changing your study plan. Let's check the SSC CGL exam pattern & syllabus of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 exam along with important topics, questions with weightage, and time duration. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 Check the below table for detailed SSC CGL exam pattern which includes subjects, questions, marks and duration of SSC CGL Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV. This section is very important because this is the only section which can be attempted quickly i.e. in 7-8 minutes and at the same time, decent marks can be scored in this section if prepared well. The syllabus of SSC CGL Tier I and Tier II is the same but the difficulty level of SSC CGL Tier II is much higher. You will rarely find any question which is formula based. Direct & Indirect, Active & Passive topics have a good weight-age in English paper of SSC CGL Tier II. It will be a written examination (offline mode) in which Precis Writing/Essay/Formal Letter/Informal Letter can be asked. The time duration for the Tier III exam is 60 minutes. Important Note: (i): Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts. (ii): Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer. (iii): Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer. (iv): Candidates opting for the post of Compiler and/or Statistical Investigator Gr. II and Assistant Audit Officer must ensure that they possess the requisite qualification as mentioned above.
