Enamel bowls became useful cookware and food serving utensils from an early time after its invention. It was also widely used by the different physician during the treatment of their patient. The sturdy characteristic of enamel gives the bowl a long life and made it appealing amongst its user. To make the bowl look more attractive new development were adopted with different designs.   1. Enamel bowls Enamel is a substance like glass and can be used on other substances by heating and melting it and then putting on them. It is used on metal, glass or pottery, in order to decorate and also to protect them. Use of this enamel has started from a very early age. It is interesting to know that the concept started during the ancient Egyptian period. The industries started its use since the Industrial Revolution, sometime in between 1820 to 1840. The application of enamel started for the production of cookware, home appliances, bathroom fixtures, water heaters, hospital equipments and scientific laboratory equipments since that time. Enamel bowls became useful cookware and food serving utensils from an early time after its invention. It was also widely used by the different physician during the treatment of their patient. The sturdy characteristic of enamel gives the bowl a long life and made it appealing amongst its user. To make the bowl look more attractive new development were adopted with different designs. Gradually these bowls started looking so exclusive that people started getting it for decoration purpose. This gives us some idea of how popular the bowls made of enamel was in the society. Various sizes of bowls were being made to meet the requirement of the consumers. They were being manufactured in different diameter according to their usage in different section of the society. ❖A standard 14 cm diameter bowl is moderately used in home, hospitals, surgical units, clinic, laboratories etc. ❖Bowls are also used to serve salad, cereals, vegetables, soups, sauces, dips, any food item with gravy, ice cream, etc. ❖Large bowls are enameled on strong metals and are manufactured for its use in different industries. These are more or less plain bowls with white color coating on it. Easy to clean and easy to maintain.
