  6. STRESS In linguistics, stress is the relative emphasis that may be given to certain syllables in a word. the term is also used for similar patterns of phonetic prominence inside syllables.

  7. Understanding syllables to understand words stress, it helps to understand syllables. Every word is made from syllables. each word has one,two,three or more syllables.   13. Unstress An unstressed syllable is a part of the word that you don't emphasize or accent.

  14. As mentioned earlier, an unstressed syllable is a syllable that is not emphasized in the word. In poly-syllabic words, except the stressed syllable, all remaining syllables of certain words are unstressed. But we can’t stress mono-syllabic words. We can only stress a syllable when it is more than one. A word has one stressed syllable and one or more unstressed syllables. So, let’s take a look at some unstressed syllable words.   17. Chunks are groups of words that can be found together in language. They can be words that always go together, such as fixed collocations, or that commonly do, such as certain grammatical structures that follow rules.
