  1. Cisco Router To Switch Configuration Generally, a router is used to connect multiple networks together. By using the router, you can access a high-speed internet over a wired or wireless connection. But, when you use a switch, it will help you to connect all your devices to a single network. Usually, an Ethernet cable is used to connect the devices to a Switch. The main function performed by Switch is filtering and forwarding of network packets from one network device to another. The section below will help you to use a Cisco router to switch configuration. Before you begin the process, reset your Cisco router. Disable your router options such as DHCP server, SPI firewall, and wireless network settings. The detailed instructions for the same are discussed below. Reset the Cisco router: Switch off your Cisco router if it is not. Locate the Reset button on the router. Hold down the reset button. Now, turn on your router while holding down the Reset button. Release the button after 5 seconds. Wait for the Cisco router to switch configuration to complete the boot-up process. It takes approximately 5-6 minutes for the boot-up process to complete. Disable the DHCP server, SPI firewall, and wireless network settings options: From your computer’s web browser, go to your Cisco router’s web interface page for Cisco router to switch configuration. Click the Setup tab. Locate the DHCP Server option and click the radio button beside the Disable option. After that, go to the Security section and disable the SPI Firewall Protection. Click the Save Settings button. Now, go to the Wireless tab. Select the Disabled option from the Network Mode drop-down menu.
