  2. Spend some time brainstorming ideas of what you like to do and things you know you’re good at. Oftentimes, these two things intersect and provide you with a list of potential talents and interests. You should not think about jobs at this point. *List all things you enjoy doing, and list them even if you don’t think they can help you make ends meet. *Don’t just write down what you think you’re good at. Consider if people have told you you’re pro몭cient at something and also add that to the list. *On your list, also jot down the di몭erent skills and talents those activities may require. For example, if you enjoy hunting for antiques, you need to have good observation skills and some history knowledge. *Add to your list all of the things you have done in the past in terms of training, courses, and basic classes. Even something seemingly random counts as well, so do add it! Start Thinking About Potential Jobs Start Thinking About Potential Jobs Find out what jobs are out there that require your di몭erent skills and talents. The Internet is a good place to begin your research, and type in search terms such as ‘career skills’ or ‘skills assessment‘.

  3. Once you have a list of quite a few jobs available, it’s time to keep only the top three or four on your list. Make sure that the jobs you choose to keep are ones that you would genuinely 몭nd yourself willing to commit to. Educate Yourself About Your Chosen Career Path Educate Yourself About Your Chosen Career Path Use the Internet and your local public library to learn as much as you can about your new career path. A local government employment o몭ce can also help you 몭nd out if there are any job openings in your new 몭eld and whether training programs are available to you. Find civil engineering jobs in India. The next step is to do a reverse interview and interview successful candidates in your chosen industry. What is it that they like about the work? What skills are necessary for success? **If there is a particular union for your chosen career, ask the o몭ce for information. It’s okay if you end up changing your mind at this point. Just start at the beginning and make another list of jobs you may like even more. You need assurance from yourself and others that you’re making the right leap of faith. Don’t Quit Your Day Job! Don’t Quit Your Day Job! Strangely enough, a company is more likely to hire you if you already have a place of employment. Consider starting out slow with a low-level job in your new industry and work your way up. Keep On Learning Keep On Learning

  4. It’s important to further your education, and you can do so by checking out local colleges or vocational schools in your area. Ask about what kinds of training and placement programs they o몭er to new recruits. It is also important to inquire about classes you can take while still retaining your old job. Oftentimes, it is possible to participate in classes at night or during the weekend. Training or classes may not be available in your locality, but that doesn’t mean giving up. Ask a human resources department at a company hiring in your chosen industry whether they o몭er on-the-job training. Though this is not considered a job interview, you should still dress and behave as if it were one. This also entails asking questions and discussing your work experience and resume. Make the time to commit yourself and join a professional organization or union relating to your industry. A simple Internet search can help you locate local groups.  Once you polish your skills and have built your resume, you can start searching for the perfect job!
