In Colorado alone, legal recreational marijuana is predicted to generate $134 million in revenue from taxes, in the upcoming fiscal year. Many experts also cite the decline in crime rates and populations in prison are powerful incentives to decriminalize marijuana. Experts believe that cannabis will be the single best investment idea for the next 10 years. The legal marijuana market is predicted to grow around 65 percent to $2.34 billion in 2014 from $1.44 billion, according to a report by the cannabis research and investment firm Arcview Group.

  4. Currently Wall Street does not cover the marijuana market, but when legalization is more widespread, that will be the point of when marijuana investments move mainstream. Current chatter is mainly about marijuana penny stocks. But those stocks are volatile and very risky right now. The best investment opportunities are in the near future when medical marijuana investment hits Wall Street.

  5. This might be the only way to get our country out of debit and it would probably not take very long. There could be added a state tax and federal tax – plus it would cause more people to be employed by the added jobs. In fact, those who are close to retirement would be perfect for these jobs as most of them would be office jobs collecting taxes. This could be the only way we can possibly get out of debt – perhaps other countries who are having financial problems would follow the lead of the United States.
