Remember: Liquids have the ability to flow. The particles of liquids are far apart. They can move, slide or roll around each other. They can be poured from one container to another. This is what makes liquids flow. Some liquids flow faster
Given two liquids in each container. Liquids A and B drawn below.Describe the two liquids according to shape and the space it occupies.
Pour the water onto an empty container. Ask: What do you see an empty space in the glass? Can you describe the shape of the water in the glass? Do they have the same shapes? Did the liquid occupy the same space in the glass? Do the Activity to LM.,Activity 2
Ask: Do liquids occupy space? Why ? Read the following situation aloud and have a discussion about it. There are three glasses on the table. The blue glass is filled with milk. The yellow glass is filled with water. The orange is filled with buko juice. What occupies the space in the glasses? Do liquids occupy the same space? Why?
Remember: Liquids do not have their own shape . They take the shape of their container. It also occupies space . The space it occupies depends on the shape of its container thus, it has no definite volume.
a.Prepare the set-up of liquids and let the pupils observe them. b.Have the pupils describe their characteristics according to taste and smell. c. Have them record their observations in an activity sheet.

Have the class study the following liquids. Let them fill in the column with the characteristics of liquids in the following table.

Remember: Some liquids have taste and odor. The taste of liquids maybe sweet, sour, salty and bitter. It’s odor and smell maybe good or bad.
Assignment Let the pupils make an album of 10 pictures of different liquids cut out from old magazines. Have them describe the characteristics of each liquid.
Pour condensed milk into the empty container. What do you observe? Do Activity LM. Activity 4. record their observation
Ask the following questions: What did you observe while pouring the liquid in the empty container? Can you describe the flow of the different liquids? Did the liquid flow fast? Slow? What characteristics of liquids was shown in the activity?
Remember: Liquids have the ability to flow. Some flow slowly and others flow fast when poured from one container to another. They have no definite shape. They just follow the shape of their containers.
