FICare at Your Site Our enrollment from March 2013-May 2015 48 newborns enrolled 35 out of the 48 were enrolled for the 3 weeks
FICare implementation FIC Coordinator Lead the project Steering committee established, met once a month at the beginning of implementation 5 hour education provided to all NICU staff Strong support from administration, Nurse Manager Interdisciplinary team member for parent education (social work, OT/PT, physiologist) facilitated the education
FICare Adaptation Open visiting Formalized parent education Parent presence/participation during rounds Parent presence for 6 hours a day
Sustainability • What of the FICare model have you been able to sustain at your site? • Parent Education program is continuing and maintained • Family presence and involvement in rounds continues • Peer to Peer or veteran parent support ongoing
