  1. Cookers and Ovens buying guide Most manufacturers promote freestanding cookers in sizes ranging from 50cm up to 60cm. This unit is freestanding and can be used as an oven, grill, and hob all in one. It is designed to slide between kitchen cabinets. The feet of cookers can be adjusted to fit flush with the worktop. Dual fuel cookers are great for gas users. They combine the speed and flexibility of a gas oven with the convenience of an electric oven.

  2. Conventional ovens Gas or electric ovens are available. The heat from a conventional gas oven comes from the burner located at the bottom of the oven. The heat from an electric oven is generated by elements at the bottom and top of the oven. See: Ovens guide A conventional oven heats up to produce a higher temperature towards its top and a lower temperature towards its bottom. A conventional oven's heat zones make it possible to cook a variety of dishes at different temperatures. Conventional ovens can be used for traditional cooking, such as roast meat and cakes.
