The reason why taking netball tips for this particular drill is that in the game there is absolutely no movement with the ball, so landing has a vital role to play and the drill needs to be practiced regularly. If you’re someone who isn’t comfortable with the drill then you should focus on footwork drills and skills to make sure you go well with the game. · Set out an area to practice in – use cones or use a third of the court. · Everyone starts moving around within the area making sure no one bumps into each other. · Everyone jumps into the air when the coach blows the whistle and make sure to land on both feet. · After the next whistle everyone starts moving again. · Once everyone is absolutely perfect and comfortable with landing on both feet that is when the drill for landing on one foot begins. 2. Zig Zags – An ultra simple drill that can be practiced as a part of the group or on your own. All you need for the drill are a few cones and you can instantly start to improve your speed and dexterity.

  3. · Set up the cones at random numbering as you lay them out. · Players take turns to run from one cone to the next in number order touching each one only with their foot. · To make the drill even more competitive you could time each player as they perform. 3. Fast Footwork and the Shooting –The aim of this very basic drill is to improve two basic factors in the netball game – movement and shooting. The drill is played in two teams of three and over. Being a fast and fun drill of competitive nature it improves the gaming strategies even faster than most other basic drills. · To begin with there are 5 to 8 cones in two rows, one for each team to weave around. · Place a ball on the end cone right in front of the hoop. · Let the two team line up behind their rows of cones. · On the whistle, the front player weaves between the cones and comes back as quickly as possible, picks up the balls and shoots. · Once they’ve had the shot they must collect the ball and replace it on the end cone; when stationary the next person sets off. These three basic netball drills are enough to begin with but for a full-fledged game ad competition, it is important to practice a few advanced netball drills. We’ll keep you posted about these advanced netball drills, by then you can practice the ones mentioned above.
