Method 1: Find Company File Using C: drive ● To begin with, select the Windows Start button and then click on the Appearance and Personalization. ● Thereafter, choose the Folders option and then select the View tab. ● Next, click on the Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives option. ● Then, select the Ok option to view the hidden files and folders. ● Go to Start menu > Computer. ● Double-click on the C:drive and then double-click on the Users folders. ● After that, double-click on the Public option and then select Documents. ● By doing so, you will see the Intuit folder, click on it and then select the QuickBooks folder. Further, double-click on the company file folder. ● Once you get the QBW file, then click on it and choose the correct option from the sub-menu. ● You are recommended to write down the directory path that might be required for further use. ● Repeat the first step again and then select the Show hidden files, folders, drives below the Advanced Settings option. ● At last, click Ok to save the changes.

Method 2: Locating Backups and QB Company Files ● To locate the backup and company file click on the Windows Start menu. ● Thereafter, type “*.qbb for QuickBooks” or *.001 for Sage or .vtr for VT Transactions within the search programs and files dialog box. ● Once the search completes, you have to write the location within the In Folder column, the Size, and Date Modified column. Disregard any sample files. ● The Data Modified Column will help you to know when was the last date to access the file. However, if you have tried to log in to an older file using a password, this file will display the current date. ● For QuickBooks, or Sage accounting software you have to double-click on the File name. Else you can double-click on the icon of the file whichever has the most recent timestamp and has the largest file size. ● You must ensure that you have opened the correct file that you are looking for.
