  1. How to Modify the Navigation Pane in Outlook?

  2. How to Modify the Navigation Pane in Outlook? • The Outlook client comes with many different panes that user can show and hide. Every pane is designed to make it simpler to search, see and even manage several things in outlook. We’re going to give you the glimpse at how to gets access to them and how you can customise them to your way of working, beginning with the Navigation pane.

  3. Modification of the Favorite Section • Outlook displays the Navigation pane with the ‘Favorites’ folder visible at the top for easy access. Favorites are a group of commonly used folders like Inbox and Sent Items. • Firstly, in the Navigation pane, add any folder which you like to Favorites by right-clicking on the folder and then click on the ‘Add to Favorites.’ • Once check it carefully that the folder will appear in the Favorites section.

  4. Note-You can also drag and drop folders into the Favorites section. Folders which are shown in the Favorites are not any new folder of any copy of the existing folder. This is the shortcuts to the folders in user mailbox. It means that if you delete a mail from a folder in your Favorites, then the user is deleting it from the ‘real’ folder shown in the mailbox. • After that, add or remove any folder that you want in your favorites. For example, Right –click a folder in Favorites and then select ‘Remove from Favorites’ to remove it. • Then, the only way to remove the folder has been mentioned. As the folder still is available in the mailbox; it will not be visible in the Favorites. Though you can add folders to the Favorites by dragging and putting you can’t remove folders from the Favorites by dragging and putting them back into the mailbox. Remember, to remove a folder from the Favorites is to use the right-click context menu is the only way.

  5. After that, change the Favorites off completely if you don’t want to use them. It will even not matter that you’re in which folder. • Next, click on the view and then Folder Pane. • Switch off the ‘Favorites’ option appears in the menu. • Consequently, this will remove the Favorites section from the Navigation pane. • To get it back hit View > Folder Pane and Switch ‘Favorites’ back on.

  6. Modification of the Navigation Pane View • The Folder pane drop-down options will include more than just switching Favorites on or off. • Also, there is an option of selecting whether the Navigation pane is visible, turned off entirely or minimize to the side. • It is useful to minimize the pane on smaller screens, however, turning the pane off can be useful when the user is dealing with a lot of emails only in one folder, and the user wants to maximize your screen space. • So, if you select the ‘Minimized’ option, then the pane will slide to the left and display just the first three items in the Favourites. • Again, to view the full pane again, click on the arrow located at the top of the pane to slide it out. • Hope, you understood the modification of Navigation pane in outlook.
