  1. Difference between Ajrakh Art and Hand Block Printing Bedsheets can be decorated in a variety of ways. This article will explain the main differences between Ajrakh and Block Printing. Block printing is an elegant process that involves chiselling fine designs onto a wooden block and then printing them on fabric. Multiple blocks can be used for printing a single fabric. Popular products include block-print bed sheets, Sarees and Dupattas. India’s expertise in natural dyes and metallics has allowed for the creation and printing of beautiful motifs on beds sheets. Oil-based dyes are used in printing. These dyes are made from oil-based resources, such as annatto seeds and turmeric for their green colour, pomegranate leaves for their yellow colour, and beetroot for their red colour. Block printing art is influenced primarily by nature, beliefs and customs. Different parts of the country have seen different styles of block printing designs evolve. Each region has its own unique aesthetic. These are the main areas where block printing is practiced: Andhra Pradesh Kalamkari is one of the most complex block printing techniques.   3. Gujarat:Handprinting has been practiced by the Paithapur family in Gujarat. To print their textiles and create intricate blocks, they use the mud resist-printing method. These prints are known as Sodagiri (traders) prints. Kutch is known for its black and red patterns featuring dancing girls, birds, and other animals. Another popular design is large mango patterns on a blue or red background. Ajrakh Style Ajrakh art can be found in Anjar and Dhamadka, which are practiced by Khatris Community. Rajasthan: Rajasthan is famous for its colourful Block Prints featuring animals, birds, gods, and goddesses. This type of hand block printing is mainly done in Jaipur, Pali and Barmer. Barmer is well-known for its prints featuring red chillies with blue- black outline, surrounded by flowers-laden trees. These prints are inspired by the Sindh region. Bagru and Sanganer are the main places where block printing is performed in Rajasthan. Bagru’s block printing is mainly done in black, red, and beige. This centre is known for its use of more indigo dyeing processes to create shades of blue. Sanganer-, close to Jaipur is known for its exquisite hand block printing in subdued colours. Printing is done usually on an off-white background fabric or white background fabric. Madhya Pradesh -Printed textiles are made by a group of printers known as Chheepa, Madhya Pradesh. Bagh, a small town in Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh, is a printer that uses Natural Dyes and vegetable dyes in bright colors of red and black.
