  1. The Era of True Devotion: Essential Guidelines for Sadhana In the journey of devotion, adherence to certain principles can guide and enhance our spiritual practice. As a devotee, aligning oneself with the teachings and practices conducive to divine remembrance is crucial. Here are some fundamental rules for sadhana that can help devotees maintain a steady and sincere devotional path. www.jkp.org.in

  2. Perform Sankirtan with Loving Remembrance :- Engage in sankirtan with a heart full of love and remembrance of the personal form of God. This practice helps in nurturing a deep connection with the divine, fostering humility and devotion in the heart of the practitioner. Cultivate Humility :- Create the humblest sentiments within yourself. Humility is the bedrock of true devotion. By developing a humble attitude, you open your heart to receive the grace of God and Guru. Meditate on Favorable Thoughts :- Focus your meditation only on thoughts that are favorable to Guru and God. This ensures that your mind remains pure and aligned with your spiritual goals, avoiding distractions that can lead you astray. Constant Remembrance of God and Guru :- Remember God and Guru every moment and everywhere. This continuous awareness acts as a shield, protecting you from negative influences and keeping your devotion intact. Avoid Vainglorious Displays :- Always avoid making vainglorious displays of your sentiments. True devotion is humble and sincere; it does not seek attention or validation from others. Desirelessness :- Do not aspire for any desires, including the desire for liberation. Complete surrender and devotion to God are the ultimate goals. Desires, even for liberation, can distract from pure devotion. Respect for Fellow Devotees :- Respect all other devotional practitioners. Each devotee is on their unique spiritual journey, and mutual respect fosters a supportive and harmonious environment for all. True Meaning of Silence :- Observance of silence was initially encouraged but later removed when it led to unrestrained adherence, resulting in transgressions against Guru’s instruction. Silence is not merely abstaining from speech; it means diverting every sense organ to the service of Shri Krishna. This holistic approach ensures that every action and thought is infused with divine consciousness. Ingenious Use of God’s Names :- Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj ingeniously attributed the names of God to food items, transforming a mundane activity into a devotional practice. When serving and receiving food, practitioners called each item by a divine name, such as: www.jkp.org.in

  3. Radhe Radhe (chapatti) Gaura Hari (rice) Shyamasundara (vegetable dish) Damodara (lentils) Rasila Shyam (vegetable dish with gravy) Yugala Sarkar (khichari) Pitambar (kadhi) Rangili Radhe (kachori) Madhur Madhur (sweets) Gaura Ras (milk) Shyam Ras (tea) Natakhata (pickle) Nandalal (salt) Lanka (chilli) Yamuna Yamuna (water) This practice infused the act of eating with devotion, making it a reminder of God’s omnipresence. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj often visited the dining hall, distributing prasad and delighting in the devotees’ eagerness to receive it directly from his hand. This simple yet profound practice strengthened the bond between devotees and the divine. www.jkp.org.in

  4. Adapting to Changing Times :- As time passed, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj adapted the programme to meet the evolving needs of the devotees. He ensured that devotional practices were meaningful and accessible to everyone by adding more facilities and streamlining the rules. His profound comprehension of the evolving nature of spiritual practice and his dedication to making devotion accessible to all are reflected in these modifications. Conclusion :- Devotees can use these rules as a beacon to guide them on a sincere and devotional spiritual journey. By following these guidelines, one can develop a closer relationship with God and the Guru and make sure that all of one’s actions and thoughts are infused with the love of God. May the wonderful memory of Radhe Shyam flood our hearts as we work to abide by these teachings, leading us to the ultimate objective of pure devotion. www.jkp.org.in
