Reboot your Windows computer and start in Safe Mode. • Go to the Windows search bar, click the Power icon, and select the restart option while simultaneously holding the Shift key. • Select the Troubleshoot option on the Choose an Option screen. • Select Advanced Options -> Startup Settings -> Restart and press the F4 key • Hold the Win and R keys together. This will open the Run box on the screen. • Steps To Know

Type the ‘msconfig’ command without the quotes in the Open field and select the OK option. • The System Configuration Utility window will appear on the screen. • Navigate to the General tab, go to the Startup Selection section, and select the radio button • Go to the Services tab and select the checkbox next to the Avast antivirus program. • Navigate back to the General tab, check if the Selected Startup option is selected, and click the OK option. • To prevent the Avast BSOD problem, proceed with the troubleshooting steps provided below.

Updating Virus Definitions: • Go to the Windows system tray, right-click the Avast antivirus program icon, and select the Update option followed by the Program option. • This will update the virus definitions of Avast.
