  2. Introduction • Sasha Obama is the more youthful little girl of previous U.S. President Barack Obama and previous first woman Michelle Obama.

  3. Who is Sasha Obama? • Sasha Obama was born in 2001 to Barack Obama, who was a state senator in Illinois at the time. When her father became president in 2008. She became the youngest person to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy’s children. During the two terms of the Obama organization, Sasha’s security was painstakingly safeguarded. She played basketball at the prestigious Sidwell Friends School. Then went on official trips with her parents and older sister, Malia. In 2019, she started at the University of Michigan.

  4. Early Life • Natasha Mary Obama was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 10, 2001. At the time Barack Obama was a state senator in Illinois, and Michelle Obama was about to start working as the executive director for community affairs at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

  5. Education • In January 2009, Sasha started at Sidwell Friends School, a private Quaker school where the children of Theodore Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, and Al Gore had previously gone to school.

  6. University of Chicago Laboratory • After a scare with meningitis when she was young, the younger Obama daughter grew up to be healthy and active. After her father was selected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Sasha stayed with her mother and older sister, Malia, in the Hyde Park neighbourhood of Chicago.   7. Life as First Daughter • When Barack was elected the 44th president of the United States in November 2008, Sasha, then 7 years old, became the youngest person to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr., who was 2 months old, and Caroline Kennedy, who was 3 years old, in 1961.

  8. Official Presidential Business • Sasha Obama was mostly kept away from the media, and Secret Service agents carefully watched over her. They gave her the code name “Rosebud,” and she enjoyed normal childhood activities like sleepovers and class trips. She also became close with Maisy Biden, who was the granddaughter of Vice President Joe Biden at the time. Still, she was sometimes a part of official presidential business, like the August 2010 photo op to show that the Gulf of Mexico was safe after the BP oil spill. The international trips that took her to the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia, and the Vatican in Rome, Italy.

  9. Lack of Interest • Michelle’s memoir, Becoming, says that Sasha started to show more of an independent side at the start of her father’s second term. She was less interested in joining traditional White House events. Like the annual pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey, and instead became a fan of cooking shows and “took over”.   11. After the White House, what Next? • Malia took a break from school before going to Harvard. But 15-year-old Sasha was still too young to go out on her own at the end of her father’s presidency in 2017. Instead, she moved with her parents to a different part of Washington, D.C., where she reportedly found a good place to live while she finished high school.

  12. Trip with Family • After going to Miami Beach with Maisy in January 2017, Sasha went to Indonesia with the rest of her family that summer. She went to the Broccoli City Festival in D.C. in the spring of 2018 and was photographed with rappers Cardi B and Offset. In July of that year, she went with her mother to a Beyoncé-Jay-Z concert in Paris.

  13. Favorite Sports • Sasha swam competitively at Sidwell, but basketball was her favourite sport. President Obama is known for helping his younger daughter’s basketball team win a league championship in 2011-12. But he had to step down when other parents said mean things about him. Sasha is also involved in the performing arts. In late 2012, she was one of the children from the D.C. area chosen to join the Moscow Ballet for a performance of The Nutcracker.

  14. University of Michigan • After Sasha graduated from Sidwell Friends in June 2019, she went to the University of Michigan instead of an Ivy League school, which caused a stir. Like many other students who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. She spent her sophomore year of 2020-21 at home with the rest of her family. She listened to her classes over the internet and baked cookies at midnight to try to get her parents to let her stay up.

  15. Personal Life • Sasha’s mother calls her “Sassy,” and she has been called the “family jokester”. Sasha father has joked that he is “afraid” of his youthful little girl and calls her his “music guru”. Sasha showed the world what kind of music. She likes by singing and dancing in a couple of now-deleted TikTok videos. She also showed a more serious side by protesting police brutality. After the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in 2020.
