  2. Introduction • Elliot Page, a Canadian actor, first got noticed in the movie “Hard Candy.” Later, he was praised for his role as “Juno” in the movie of the same name.

  3. Who is Elliot Page? • Elliot Page was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1987. He got his start on Canadian TV before getting a lot of attention for his strong performance in the independent thriller Hard Candy in 2005. The Last Stand and Juno, where he was praised for his role as a teen star. • Even however he is most popular for his part in Juno, he has also been in several other popular movies, such as Smart People, Inception, Super, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.   4. Early Life • Elliot Page was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on February 21, 1987. He is an actor. Page has been interested in theatre since he was young. He was in his first local play when he was in the fifth grade. In 1997, he was nominated for Canada’s prestigious Gemini Award for his role in the TV movie Pit Pony.

  5. TV Show • The busy actor went on to star in several Canadian TV shows, like the Pit Pony spin-off Trailer Park Boys (2001-2002) and ReGenesis (2004), as well as the award-winning film Marion Bridge (2002).

  6. Big Break • Page was first seen by Americans in the 2003 Lifetime movie Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. However, it was his role in the controversial 2005 indie thriller Hard Candy that put him in the spotlight. He was cast as Kitty Pryde in Page’s first big-budget movie, X-Men: The Last Stand, because of his haunting performance as a 14-year-old victim who turned out to be an attacker (2006).

  7. Award • Even though he was in the big-budget X-Men movie, Page didn’t get international praise for his acting until he played a pregnant teen in the acclaimed independent drama Juno (2007). As the wise but innocent Juno McGuff, the young actor’s performance earned him an Academy Award nomination for his quick wit and hidden vulnerability.

  8. Later Work • After his success with Juno, Page went on to star in movies like Smart People (2008) and Whip It (2009). In the former, he played Dennis Quaid’s lonely and emotional daughter, and in the latter, he was part of a roller derby league in a movie directed by Drew Barrymore. In 2010, he took on a more serious role in the movie “Inception” with Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He usually plays quirky, funny roles.

  9. Voice to the TV Show • Soon after Inception came out, Page started doing a lot of voice-over work. In 2011, he gave his voice to the TV show Glenn Martin DDS. In 2012 and 2013, he gave his voice to the popular cartoons Family Guy and Out There. As the voice actor for Jodie Holmes, the main character in the video game Beyond: Two Souls, he also brought her to life. After working as a voice actor, Page played the same part again in the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

  10. Start Hosting • In 2015, Page was in the movie Freeheld with Julianne Moore. The next year, he started hosting Gaycation, a travel show about LGBTQ cultures around the world. In 2017, he starred in a remake of the 1990 horror movie Flatliners.

  11. Personal Life • In February 2014, Page told the world he was gay at a conference in Las Vegas. The goal of the Time to THRIVE conference was to talk about problems in the LGBTQ community.

  12. Marriage • In January 2018, Page said he was getting married to his dance teacher and choreographer girlfriend, Emma Portner. The actor posted a picture of their wedding bands on Instagram with the caption, “Can’t believe I get to call this amazing woman my wife. @emmaportner.” In 2021, they split up.

  13. The Umbrella Academy • Page told everyone on December 1, 2020, that he was transgender and had changed his name from Ellen to Elliot. In March 2021, Page was the first openly transgender man to be on the cover of Time. Netflix said in March 2022 that Page’s character on “The Umbrella Academy” would also come out as transgender, just like in real life.
