2. WHAT IS THE INSTITUTE OF DIRECTORS? The Institute of Directors (IOD) is an international business organisation dedicated to professional leadership. The mission of the Institute is to improve the quality of leadership and enhance corporate responsibility. IOD supports young people through training and development and conducts programmes in leadership, professional skills and public speaking. There are many benefits of being a member of the IOD - becoming a member of the IOD is a great opportunity to learn about global management and public speaking and develop your communication and leadership skills in the professional market place. The IOD provides a forum for networking, development of corporate governance and administration skills, and provides an international platform for bringing together business executives and other people from diverse backgrounds. The Institute of Directors offers its international members a varied programme of activities and events. The most recent series of events was held in June this year. IOD's European Congress was held in Brugge and attracted delegates from over 120 countries. During the week-long Congress many IOD members were able to attend the special session on "Leadership and Management Issues in the Society". This year will be the 40th year of the IOD. During this year the IOD will organise three Conferences. These conferences are the International Meeting on Corporate Governance (ICC 2021), the Annual Meeting on Corporate and Leadership Affairs (AMDA 2021) and the European Symposium on Business and Leadership (ESBA 2021). The Annual Meeting is likely to be the largest conference of its kind and will attract hundreds of delegates from over 100 countries. WWW.IIM.ORG.UK

WHO ARE INSTITUTE OF INTERIM MANAGEMENT The International Congress on Corporate Governance (ICC 2021) will feature some keynote speakers including Lord Woolf, Lord Brand, Professor Sir Christopher Belman and Chief Executive Officer of Southeastern Bank. The agenda includes issues surrounding leadership and corporate finance. The Congress will also deal with issues surrounding mergers and acquisitions, culture and diversity, responsibility and integrity, globalization and issues affecting the Middle East. The Annual Meeting will deal with such topics as boardrooms and strategy and plans for the future. The European Symposium on Business and Leadership will focus on the concept of leadership, managerial effectiveness and organizational change. WWW.IIM.ORG.UK
