  1. Holi: the Colorful Boost for your Startup Startups and Holi are two very different concepts and you may think ‘’ what the heck was I thinking putting both these things in one boat? ”. It’s true that none of these things makes sense, with one being a social festival that interest anthropologists and another being a totally economic domain. However, the only thread that joins these two very different things is the people behind it. After all, festivals like Holi are made special by the people who make it such a colorful affair. Just as startups are impossible endeavors that got started with one person’s idea and that very idea gets supported, bought and sold to millions of people. This write up explores the socio- economic aspects that links Holi and startups together and will prove beneficial if you have your sights honed on using Holi to your benefit. Holi is typically a festival of colors that heralds the spring season in India while celebrating the victory of good over evil. However, this hype for colors is also symbolic of the life of a startup company. Just like the colors of Holi, which range from dark to light shades, a startup witnesses a very colorful journey with an equal share of joys of sorrows, ups and down. However, Holi is a festival that is meant to let bygones be bygones and if you are a startup that is experiencing its share of blues then Holi is the perfect time to embrace the spirit of the season and paint the town red with these awesome opportunities that this joyous season entails. -As it is common to festivals and holidays, every business is trying to boost up the sales. Similarly, with all the hype around Holi, brands like Uber are promoting their brand with a venture called #UberDhol on Demand that is more promotional than actual marketing. This strategy of buy one, get one free is basically hitting two birds with one stone. So set up a meeting with your marketing team to advertise your product or idea that is based on this strategy, it could be anything from discount coupons or an enticing sales pitch that will magnetically attract people to boost up sales. Such a breakthrough will be a Holi surprise for your customers and their willingness will also come as a special surprise to you. P.S. - With all the hype around climate change, organic foods and a more natural and healthy way of life you can create your strategy around these gavel-wielding eco-friendly Holi gift ideas.

  2. -- Focusing on Holi related deals that shout ‘best customer service’ is a great way to make people flock towards you. Also, make only such promises that you can deliver so that the quality doesn’t get compromised and nor does it put a dampener on the festive spirit. To get in the mood you can decorate the office with colorful rangolis by taking ideas from Youtube tutorials and update your customers by using your most capable weapon, the social media. From posting colorful picture and Holi hashtag and polls on Instagram use social media to your best advantage and keep up the hype. -As a startup, your customers are very valuable to you but not more than your team of dedicated employees who are dedicated wholeheartedly to your cause. With Holi approaching real fast, they also need some boost to step up to the game. You can look up for some exciting and budget- friendly ways to celebrate Holi, from dress codes to Holi gifts ideas and potluck lunch. These little things not only lift up the morale of your employees but also develop a competitive edge in them. Holi needs to be celebrated with all the pomp and joy you can muster about with sweets, colors, pichkaris and obviously the people who make it such a stellar affair. From crossing the days on your calendar and brainstorming for ideas use this festival to your advantage and have a colorful and fun filled leap your startup will benefit from all they year round.
