According to Venture Intelligence, VC investments decreased by more than 32% in 2022, from $35.4 billion over 1,215 deals in 2021 to $24 billion across 1,130 projects. Sequoia Capital India was the most active VC investor in 2022 with 73 investments (including new and follow-on investments), followed by Accel India and Better Capital with 57 investments each. Tiger Global took third place with 50 investments.

Compared to record highs in 2021, investments by Private Equity-Venture Capital (PE-VC) companies in India decreased by 29% in 2022.    According to Venture Intelligence, PE-VC 몭rms invested $46 billion (across 1,261) in Indian companies in 2022 as opposed to $65 billion (across 1,362 transactions) the year before.   Present   Investments by Private Equity-Venture Capital (PE-VC) companies in India decreased by 29% in 2022 compared to all-time highs in 2021.    According to Venture Intelligence, PE-VC 몭rms made $46 billion (over 1,261 deals) in investments in Indian businesses in 2022, down from $65 billion (across 1,362 deals) the year before.    In 2022, India created a total of 21 unicorn 몭rms (VC-funded startups valued at $1 billion or more), 18 of them in the 몭rst half of 2022 and fewer than half of the 44 unicorns created globally.   In actuality, no new unicorns were produced in the last quarter of 2022. In 2022, SaaS 몭rms made up 29% of all the new unicorns, followed by Fintech 몭rms with 19%.    In all, $9.8 billion was invested in unicorn businesses in India in 2022, a 61% decrease from the previous year (which saw $25 billion spent in unicorn 몭rms).   111 mega transactions ($100 M+ rounds) totalling $31 billion were made in 2022, vs 152 such investments totalling $50.3 billion in 2021.    The greatest investment in 2022 came from Qatar Investment Authority ($1.5 billion), and it went toward the platform Bodhi Tree, which focuses on new media and consumer technologies.    The $1.1 billion investment into publicly-traded Yes Bank made by international PE investors Carlyle Group and Advent International came next.   Company Review   According to Venture Intelligence, VC investments decreased by more than 32% in 2022, from $35.4 billion over 1,215 deals in 2021 to $24 billion across
