  2. What is the NIPT blood test? The NIPT, or non-invasive prenatal test, is a sensitive test conducted during pregnancy to check the down syndrome possibilities in the foetus. This is a pregnancy blood test generally done in the first trimester of the pregnancy. With the help of NIPT, the baby's DNA abnormalities are detected.
