Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) pumps use compressed air as a power source to move fluids. A particular amount of pressure (measured in pounds per square inch) and air volume (measured in cubic feet per minute) are needed to operate an AODD pump.   2. Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) pumps use compressed air as a power source to move fluids. A particular amount of pressure (measured in pounds per square inch) and air volume (measured in cubic feet per minute) are needed to operate an AODD pump. AODD pumps are capable of performing in most applications under the most challenging conditions. When in operation, there is air pressure on the entire surface of the diaphragm, which removes mechanical stress from the operation, keeping it in a balanced condition. As a result, the diaphragms in an AODD pump last longer as compared to mechanically operated pumps.
